“The cottage is superbly situated within easy walking distance of everything in the village so unless you want to leave Coniston, you simply don’t need to use the car - a real bonus!”
It is a cosy, inviting and comfortable cottage. The garden is incredible and our dog loved haring up and down chasing her ball!
Please update your photos on the website! I was actually dreading coming to stay as the reviews were so bad and it looked very tired in the pictures, but we were pleasantly surprised as you’ve obviously worked hard to update lots of the cottage and it’s lovely and far more contemporary than I’d expected. I have some photos if you’d like them.
The big issue we had were that the washing machine wasn’t working - so we ended up hand washing in the bath (no fun) and the drier not being available also was a pain. In the Lake District, a washer/drier is pretty essential - especially with kids and a dog and unreliable weather - so that let the property down for us. Also that the kitchen could be slightly better stocked - only 1 of each plate/bowl/cutlery etc for a family was a bit limiting and a few larder basics would be useful - oil, salt/pepper, herbs, etc. We bought some and left for the next tenants. Although the cottage isn’t overlooked at all, some optional blinds in the front window might’ve been nice - it did feel a little like being showcased to the neighbourhood every time we sat at the table to eat!
All in all, a good holiday cottage. Thank you! We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you and your doggie enjoyed your stay at Sethera.
We take your comments on board, and will look at the listing.
We are sorry to hear of the issue that you experienced with the washing machine, had we been made aware during your stay, we would have attended to resolve.
We will ask our Housekeeping Team to ensure that there is enough crockery for guests.
Thank you
