The property

Plosh House is a beautiful stone-built property, originally built around 1840 and once a former boat building workshop, it now offers contemporary comforts whilst retaining the traditional character.

Nestled just a stone's throw outside the centre of Keswick in the Lake District, Plosh House benefits from a central location whilst still feeling tucked away and private, perfect for a relaxing break to the Lakes. Set over two floors, this unique property features high-quality and stylish furnishings throughout, along with original wood and slate floors, Farrow & Ball colours and underfloor heating throughout.

Enter the front door, passing through the stone porch, before heading into the wonderful social hub that is the open-plan living space, home to granite worktops, bespoke kitchen units and an impressive range cooker, along with inviting plush seating to watch the Smart TV from, and a dining table and breakfast bar.

A cloakroom and a utility area also rest on the ground floor, as well as one of the three delightful bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite WC. The staircase features unique handrails made from two oars, echoing the property's history, and leading you up to the first floor sitting room, a fabulous space beneath a gable ceiling, adorned with a Mediterranean style and lit by three windows and a Juliet balcony, perfect for allowing a warm breeze to fill the room in summer.

Stream a favourite show on the Smart TV as you relax on the plush seating up here, with a woodburning stove to warm you in the winter months, or enjoy peace up in the mezzanine seating area with a desk and Velux windows, reached via oak stairs.

The two remaining bedrooms both boast roomy super-king-size beds, with one featuring an en-suite shower room, a Juliet balcony and able to be a twin on request thanks to zip/link features, while the other is served by the excellent family bathroom, home to an amazing freestanding cast iron bath.

Enjoy sitting out in the pretty enclosed garden with seating and a gazebo, delighting in the south-facing aspect which receives so much sun!

Keswick town centre is just a short walk away and boasts plenty to enjoy, from the traditional pubs and variety of restaurants to the shops, both independent and well-known, alongside attractions like Puzzling Place and Derwent Pencil Museum.

Derwentwater is bursting with opportunities for fun in the water whether sailing or trying a watersport like kayaking or paddle-boarding, with boat and equipment hire available locally, and several local outdoor activity organisers ready to help plan a day of real adventure for you!

This walkers paradise is brimming with great places to walk, with a stroll around Derwentwater being a lovely start or a ramble over to Castlerigg Stone Circle, an ancient monument dating to around 3000BC.

Keen walkers will surely want to tackle the larger peaks in the area of Skiddaw and Blencathra, or take a scenic drive down to Scafell Pike or Hellvelyn for even more choice.

Ullswater, Bassenthwaite and Thirlmere are all just an easy car journey away along with many of the Lakes' attractions. Discover endless wonder within the Lakes from the beautiful Plosh House.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
