The Cats Bield (taking its name from the neighbouring Cat Bells that overlooks Keswick and Derwentwater), offers two bedrooms, one with ensuite, a smart lounge, kitchen/dining area and on the top floor the owners have created a Climbers Loft, the ideal retreat to plan your next walk, climb or Lakeland adventure.
The shores of Derwentwater are just ten minutes' walk away and there is a fantastic selection of walks to choose from including gentle walks along the lake shore, walks to popular Ashness Bridge and Surprise view or the nearby Castlerigg Stone Circle.
Those seeking out the high fells will head to the summit of Latrigg and Skiddaw that dominate the town's skyline and mountain bikers will enjoy the award winning Altura Trails in Whinlatter Forest

Accommodation in detail
The Cats Bield is located in the north of the town centre, close to the old Cumberland pencil factory.
The front door opens to the hallway with coat hooks and boot racks.
The cosy lounge offers a comfortable sofa, welcoming armchairs arranged around the coffee table and Smart HD TV.
To the rear of the cottage there is a spacious kitchen dining area.
Featuring fitted traditional oak style kitchen which is very well equipped with all you could need including gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and family dining table, just the spot for a hearty breakfast before a day on the fells or a dinner with family or friends.
Beyond the kitchen there is a utility area with dishwasher and washer drier.
To the rear of the property there is an off-street parking yard with a private space for one medium size car.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms to choose from, the first, named Skiddaw, is a welcoming king size double with views across the roof top to the mountain that gives the room its name and that towers above the town.
This room is complemented by an en-suite shower room with basin and WC.
The second bedroom, Causey Pike, can be presented either as a king size double or two 2'6 twin beds (please specify when booking).
Off the landing there is a quality family bathroom with P-shaped bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Steep steps lead to the top floor where, in the eaves of the cottage, the owners have created the Climbers Loft, with relaxing sofas, a second TV but also a miscellany of all things Lakeland, from maps, guides, vintage climbing gear and local memorabilia just the place to relax in an evening and to plan your next Lakeland adventure.
