The property

Walla Crag is a two-bedroom contemporary first-floor apartment in the market town of Keswick in Cumbria.

The apartment is a relaxing central base for couples or families wishing to explore the Lake District National Park.

It is located in the heart of a Grade II listed building, formerly a coaching inn frequented by poets and writers such as Coleridge, Tennyson and Wordsworth.

On the first floor, you will find a king-sized bedroom, with ensuite shower room, and a twin bedroom with its own dressing area.

Make your way up to the open plan second floor, where you can rustle up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen ready to enjoy at the dining table for four.

After dinner, why not savour the last of the day’s sunshine with your favourite tipple out on your very own private terrace with fleecy blankets for those cooler evenings. Walla Crag has an extensive collection of books, DVDs and board games to entertain you after a day exploring the fells, shops or cafes in and around Keswick.

If you haven't yet explored your town, you'll be delighted to learn that you're surrounded by a wide assortment of bars, restaurants, and convenience stores that include Lakes Bar & Bistro, The Square Orange Café, and more.

The Keswick Museum and Derwent Pencil Museum are great stops for history buffs, while the Keswick Adventure Centre offers outings for thrill seekers to go ghyll scrambling, canyoning, and paddleboarding in the area.

Keswick's other attractions include the Puzzling Place, the picturesque Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail, and the first-rate Keswick Golf Course.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
