“Very nice modernised property, with off road parking.”

Shame heating could only be controlled by turning boiler on or off. Curtains at living room window would have been nice as there is a public footpath to Falls opposite. Felt a bit exposed. Minor points - no 1pint glasses or teapot and couldn’t find instructions for hob! Shame as otherwise accommodation excellent.

Dear Lindsay Thank you for your feedback. This is the first year of renting the property since it was renovated and there are teething problems. We absolutely agree about the curtains and we are in the process of finding a solution. And again the heating is not ideal and we are hoping the contractor will come & repair this asap. I have noted your comments about larger glasses but there is a tea pot in one of the cupboards. What a pity you didn’t find it. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed your stay and will use Jenever Cottage again. Best wishes Property Owner

Located in the heart of the Lake District National Park and with proximity to countless towns and villages for day trips this home is a wonderful choice to explore the tourist attractions of the Lakes.

After a day of high-level fell walks, put your feet up in the first-floor sitting room, open up the balcony doors to let in the fresh breeze of the countryside, or take some drinks outside and enjoy the last of the evening sun surrounded by your loved ones.

The kitchen/diner is appointed with everything you could need for a break away, including a washer/dryer if your adventures take off on a muddier route.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
