    “The house was fantastic.”

    Perfectly kitted out, furnishings very good quality. Beds and showers were of very high standard. Quality of bed-linen and towels was very good. Kitchen was well equipped. The location is perfect too for access to the multitude of very good restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops which Ambleside has. Guest book had lots of very helpful information regarding walks and things to do in the area. A lot of effort has gone into making a stay in the property a good one. We had issues with wi-fi. ...

When we followed instructions in cottage manual, message said password was incorrect. We solved it by then connecting to the tp-link addresses and this worked to get us wi-fi. I think the instructions in the manual need amended.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.
