“Spotlessly clean, well furnished each bedroom has own bathroom and the location is 10/10 The slight negatives are: Parking is really tight you had to do a multi point turn to get in or out.”

There’s Too many pans, serving dishes etc so little room for groceries. The wine glasses are terrible there was also only x1 gin glass. But these are just niggles and easily fixed.

The house is beautifully furnished and very well equipped; we absolutely loved it. Even better than we imagined. We were in the Lakes for the Windermere end to end swim so it was a perfect location for the registration and pick up point. “What a fantastic place to stay the house is absolutely stunning however the one downside is that if you sleep in the front rooms don't expect to get much sleep they really could do with secondary glazing as the road noise and early deliveries really do spoil an otherwise enjoyable stay.”

Our group consisted of four couples, each of whom were delighted with the quality of the accommodation. The kitchen/living area was an ideal social space. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen equipment was comprehensive and the welcome pack much appreciated. The location of the property is ideal for taking advantage of the local amenities and as a base for exploring the area. Would recommend without hesitation.

“Fantastic property, decorated and maintained to a high standard, everything works, which in my experience is unusual for holiday rentals.”

The property is ideally located in the centre of town with walks on the doorstep with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Parking for our two cars was not a problem in October, there’s parking for one car at the property and we had a permit for the roads near by for the other car and there was always parking available. This might not be the the case at busier times.

As guest comments show our Housekeeper/ cleaners take great pride in ‘their’ property being perfect. The bathroom involved was inspected before the guests arrived and after they left.On both inspections the only problem was that after they left the toilet seat was up…… Property Owner

What a find! The house is finished to a very high standard... perhaps better than any I have been in. Everything is spotless, high quality, and everything you might need is there. My younger generation especially loved the second TV room/snug! Also big thanks to the owners and the housekeeper for a quick resolution to the only problem that arose during our stay.

It has everything you need for a great weeks holiday, if you want to cook the kitchen is kitted out with all you need, if not you are in the heart of Ambleside with pubs, cafes, restaurants at your door. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and very much appreciated, we will definitely be back.

“Wonderful place to stay.”

As we were getting married it was a fantastic base for the family to prepare for our big day. Had problem with hot water the day before the wedding but was fixed within 2 hours. If being a bit petty you could complain about the delivery noises early morning but you are in the town centre. Plus side is you open the front door and are in the middle of Ambleside .As soon as I (sorry now we) can save the money we will rent it again.

). The location is slap bang in the heart of Ambleside and easy to find. Facilities are amazing with everything needed plus more for a family holiday. Beds are super comfy and having 2 comfortable sofa areas is also a plus when staying with a large family group. The kitchen is fully equipped with pretty much everything you can think of. The attention to detail in terms of decoration is clean, stylish and modern. The welcome pack was also an added luxurious extra to start the holiday and went down a treat. I would definitely recommend this property!

“The apartment is lovely.”

Very spacious over two floors, good sized rooms, with fab en-suites. Everything you could possibly need and a good quality 5 star hotel feel. The decking area was perfect for sitting out in the sun. The downside is the outside noise. The front overlooks the road and the back is noisy in the early morning with deliveries to the back of the shops. I would still go again however :)

Extremely well stocked with quality kitchen equipment that made self catering easy. Very clean, much appreciated welcome pack and a good supply of basic cleaning products. Beautiful furnishings with comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms, efficient heating with constant hot water. TV package and tv's in all rooms allowed our mixed party to be catered for on wet evenings. The living area is accessed by numerous steps externally at the back and internally at the front. The hallway downstairs at the front of the house provided ideal access for a pram.

Initial supplies were welcome. The location was excellent, though having a view would have been the cherry on the cake. The apartment was spacious and suitable for the number of people in our party. Great to have so many en suites and shower rooms etc. The advertised access to the leisure club makes it sound as though it is close by in walking distance. Not a ten or more minute drive away. Consequently we did not use it. Overall an excellent facility.

“We had the most amazing stay for my dads 60th birthday.”

The house was absolutely beautiful and couldn’t have been in a better location. It was decorated to such a high standard and was absolutely immaculate! The kitchen cupboards had everything you could possibly need and it was such a lovely touch leaving bread, milk, butter, cake and prosecco for us on arrival. This large apartment has 4 bedrooms, 3 being king-size with en-suite with separate bath and shower and one being a twin with a dedicated shower room. Rossett Holme is one of three exceptional properties owned and managed by one family.

These three properties; The Old Village Shop, Old Ambleside House, and Rossett Holme - are all located very close to the centre of Ambleside all are Visit England 4 or 5 star Gold Awarded and offer very high quality accommodation.

All are available for full weeks or short breaks at anytime of year (apart from New Year). Accommodation In detail You enter up ten external steps into the large open plan kitchen with dining area and main lounge. The kitchen features hi spec appliances including a large American fridge/freezer and the all important wine chiller.

The large dining table is perfect for a hearty Cumbrian breakfast or a fine evening meal with friends and family. The kitchen adjoins the sitting room with comfy sofas and chairs with a Smart TV featuring Sky Sports, the perfect room to gather and relax. From the sitting room you step into the hall and through to a cosy second lounge with L shaped sofa along with TV , ideal for a quite moment to read the morning papers, watch the game in peace or relaxing after a busy day walking.

There are 4 bedrooms to choose from, all beautifully furnished with a choice of goose & down or non-allergenic duvets, please specify when booking.

All bedrooms have TVs along with music equipment.

Bedroom one is on the first floor, a spacious king size, also with TV and music equipment and an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower Up a short flight of stairs to the upper level you have two large bedrooms both with king size beds and TVs.

The twin also with a TV.

Its bathroom is not en-suite but is a shower room immediately adjacent. Outside is the deck with garden table and chairs, a sun trap during the summer, where you can enjoy a few drinks with family and friends. All in all Rossett Holme is a stunning apartment with touches of luxury to enjoy. Location Rossett Holme is situated as central to Ambleside as is it can be, with access to all of the shopping, restaurants, pubs and amenities.

It has 1 on site car parking spot plus one car parking permits for 24/7 parking on the streets immediately adjacent to the property.

You can the leave the cars and step out of Rossett Holme for lunch or to enjoy any of the excellent local restaurants for dinner.

On the door step you have 2 cinemas with the latest films, and an extensive range of shops, cafes and pubs.

At the same time you are no more than 10 minutes walk from the fells. All that and you are less than a mile from Windermere's Waterhead pier where there is the prospect of cruising on the lake.

Trips can include stopping off at Bowness, Lakeside, Wray Castle and other points of interest. This property is perfectly located to make the most of Ambleside and to explore the whole of the Lakes.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
