“Really great house for a large family getaway.”

Facilities are really good, every room is en-suite and good quality. Also benefits from a hot tub and games room with table tennis. Only downside was that there was an odour in a couple of the bedrooms, which may have been associated with the septic tank. But for this, I would have rated even higher, Bot overall, it’s a lovely house to rent with great common areas to spend time together in.

We are happy to hear that you had a good time. We apologise for the smell but on very few occasions and during hot weather there can be a smell despite the fact that the whole system was redone only two years ago and the old septic tank was replaced by a modern treatment plant. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about that. Property Owner

About the location

BARDSEA

Ulverston 2 miles.

Set on a hill looking across to Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote area grew from a small fishing village and farming area into a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. No longer a vital port, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features a pub serving fine ales and good food. The village is close to spectacular Furness Abbey, while the ancient market town of Ulverston is just 2 miles away, and still has a street market every Thursday and Saturday, plus many festivals throughout the year, including an amazing lantern procession in September and a superb Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park, beaches and good birdwatching of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful and quiet area has plenty to offer.
