If the property was as you describe it then I would not have stayed in it for 3 minutes let alone 3 nights, without having contacted the owner. The property is cleaned/serviced to a high standard by our trusted cleaners and hot tub maintenance team whom we have used for 5 years plus. Our overall historic rating of 4.8 out of 5 would indicate that this is the case. You have provided no photographic evidence to me to substantiate your claims. Fuel and a bike store are provided as part of the facilities and documented in the welcome email and pack I send to all guests – so I am unsure why you were unable to locate either. To any readers of this review I would suggest reading the 100 or so that precede it to gain an overview of the property. We will never be completely perfect (who is), however we will never present the property to guests in the manner described by this review. Property Owner

The cottage boasts a stylish finish throughout and the cosy open plan living area has a woodburning stove.

There is a superb bathroom and a comfortable bedroom with a large window, views across the river to Gummer's How and an external door leading out to a secluded patio, with a hot tub and steps to an elevated decked area.

About the location

NEWBY BRIDGE

Bowness-on-Windermere 8 miles.

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.
