From its elevated position above the western shores of Lake Windermere, Hawkrigg Farm is a superb, detached, country house that offers amazing views of the lake from virtually every room.
Refurbished to the highest possible standard by the current owner, Hawkrigg Farm offers spacious accommodations for friends and extended family to socialise and celebrate in style.
Presented with five beautiful bedrooms, three shower rooms and a luxurious bathroom, everyone will be delighted with their choice of room.
The lounge is complemented by a second sitting room offering plenty of space to relax whilst the spacious and bright kitchen/diner, equipped to the highest standard, is the real heart of the home with its large family dining table ideal for special family dinners and hearty Lakeland breakfasts.
To the front of the house, a large lawned garden overlooks the lake where guests can relax, dine or enjoy the hot tub.
The village of Far Sawrey is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage and the popular Cuckoo Brow Inn serves excellent local fare and traditional Lakeland ales.
Just up the road a little further (and still within easy walking distance), is the famous tiny village of Near Sawrey.
The area is virtually unchanged from the way it looked when the author Beatrix Potter lived here after falling in love with its quaint country scenery.
Further afield, the historic village of Hawkshead is less than a ten-minute drive with its delightful whitewashed cottages, village shops and country pubs.
Crossing Lake Windermere on the car ferry delivers guests to the popular tourist village of Bowness.
For those looking to explore the great outdoors, footpaths criss-cross the valley close to the cottage offering walks from the door and those with mountain bikes can get out and about and enjoy the stunning views from Claife Heights.
Please note that the hot tub will not reach the required temperature until the day following arrival (this is due to water change before new arrivals and needs time to heat back up to temperature)
