Continue through to the kitchen/diner, where the designated chef of the group can use the well-equipped facilities to whip up a delicious meal for the whole family to enjoy at the seating for six guests.

When you’re ready for some rest, head upstairs, where you will find three well-presented bedrooms, with one featuring an en-suite and the other two served by a bathroom for freshening up.

Explore the town of Burton-in-Kendal and beyond, starting with a family day out to the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, a great way to discover the wildlife of Cumbria, or the spectacular Fairy Steps for a rewarding walk with beautiful panoramic views.

Follow the trails of the Warton Crag Nature Reserve, or simply take a drive to the sandy beach of Silverdale.

Continue to the nearby town of Capernwray and sample some traditional English cuisine at one of the pubs along Main Street or join a boat trip on the breath-taking waters of the Lake District National Park.

Further afield explore the city of Lancaster for a day of shopping and dining; or simply stay in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside for a selection of outdoor activities.

CARNFORTH

Capernwray 2.4 miles; Lake District 20 miles

Located just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the scenic Lake District, Carnforth is the sort of place that everyone has heard of, and many desire to discover this hidden gem. Situated at the north end of Morecambe Bay, north of the historic town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and a hop and a skip from the Lake District, it is close to absolutely everywhere! Other local attractions include Greenlands Farm Village for crafts, local produce, a play area, café and a garden centre. The lovely area just north of Carnforth has tidal sands bordering the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay. It offers plenty of pleasant walks and opportunity to see local birds and wildlife in this fabulous area of Lancashire. Don't forget to visit the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
