“Cannot fault location, cleanliness, comfort, maintenance and the existing facilities of Honey Cottage.”

The welcome package was well received, thank you! If I had to give feedback for improvement, it would be useful to: have a large entrance door mat. When it’s been raining and 4 people need to gain quick access, there is no immediate space to derobe/remove walking boots. In the warmer months, it would ideal if the downstairs cloakroom had a heated radiator - operated in separation to the central heating… Last week was very rainy , so we had to switch the central heating on to dry ...

In the warmer months, it would ideal if the downstairs cloakroom had a heated radiator - operated in separation to the central heating… Last week was very rainy , so we had to switch the central heating on to dry boots and shoes for the following day… it was like a Sauna;) Written explanation for the recycling. The print has faded on the council blue sacks/boxes so one has to examine neighbouring recycling to understand ‘what goes into what’

Hi Nicola Thank you so much for the helpful feedback. We are glad you found Honey Cottage so comfortable and clean. Space is obviously limited for a larger mat than the 2 there, but I understand your point. We will leave a larger one that can be taken up and down easily to make things easier. We can’t fit another radiator in the downstairs bathroom without compromising other comforts, but guests are welcome to turn the heating on and switch off the other downstairs radiators to isolate the ones(s) for drying. We are glad you had a good week and that you get back to Kirkby Lonsdale one day. Many thanks again. Heather Property Owner

About the location

KIRKBY LONSDALE

Kendal 9 miles.

An attractive market town, Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, midway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The town was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and holds a 13th century Market Charter. Nowadays, Thursday is market day, a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive independent shops in the town, or the many 17th and 18th century buildings which still stand. The town was also a finalist for the High Street of the Year Award in 2016. This part of the Lune Valley was a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, and was made famous by Ruskin – his "view" of the valley is still spectacular. The medieval Devil’s Bridge spans the river, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even horse. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, fishing and a variety of riverside and country walks, making the area an ideal location for a break, whatever time of year. When voting Kirkby Lonsdale as the ‘Best Place to Live in The North West’ in 2019, The Sunday Times commented it is “An unbeatable Lake District location, bags of community spirit and one of the cleanest high streets in the country".
