“We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at Juniper Cottage - it is very comfortable and well-equipped, and it was nice to have a welcome pack.”

What makes the cottage really special is the views across to the fells westwards - fabulous and ever-changing. Lovely walks from the door, and in a very peaceful position.

The property

A stunning rural location...

spacious maintained grounds and gardens for guests to enjoy and relax" (Visit England) Only 25 minutes from the M6 and within easy reach of both Bowness and Windermere (and a range of award winning restaurants and country pubs), Juniper Cottage offers contemporary standards of comfort in a 1920's Lakeland character property, in a truly enviable location, with breath-taking views across meadows and woods to the Fells, beyond.

It is an ideal setting for a totally relaxing holiday, Juniper Cottage sits on just short of an acre of mature grounds, with lawns, shrubs, wild flowers and its own small wood, all bounded by estate fencing and a dry-stone wall. There are paved terraces to South and West offering alfresco dining for 6, and two benches from which to capture the last rays of the evening sun.

It is a short walk from Windermere Golf Club (or an even quicker drive!). Country walks begin at the front door, with two garden gates opening directly onto the Great Field, and a branch of the Dales Way.

(The lane connecting the property to the Crook road is also part of the Dales Way).

Accommodation in detail Pass through the gateway and down the drive and Juniper Cottage is revealed standing in its own woodland garden with stunning pastoral views.

The front door from the porch opens to the inner hallway.

The sitting room is situated on the south west corner of the cottage and the beautiful picture windows offer wide views across the meadows to the mountains beyond that range from the Old Man of Coniston through Crinkle Crags to the Langdale Pikes.

With comfortable sofas and large screen TV, this is the ideal place to relax at any time of day and of course is the ideal place to catch glimpses of the wildlife that inhabit the area including the wild fallow deer that can often be found grazing both in the garden and in the fields in front of the cottage.

French door lead from the sitting room to a south facing terrace making it the ideal spot to relax on a summer's evening. The family dining room is just the place to socialise over dinner or celebrate special occasions with family and friends and the adjacent kitchen, again with the most beautiful views, is well appointed and well equipped and includes a electric range cooker, with 5 ring electric hob and two ovens, a fridge, freezer, wine cooler, breakfast bar and dishwasher. Juniper Cottage is presented with a choice of four bedrooms.

The master bedroom offers a comfortable king size bed, lovely views and a smart en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The second bedroom again shares the views and is furnished with fitted wardrobes and a double bed.

The final two bedrooms are comfortable single rooms.

The bedrooms are complemented by a well appointed family bathroom, with a full size bath (with shower over), basin and WC.

On the ground floor there is a large wet room with basin and WC. The property is surrounded by woodland gardens that offers privacy, space and great views.

There is parking for up to three cars on the driveway. Location Only 2 miles from Windermere and Bowness villages to the east of Lake Windermere, property is perfectly placed for a peaceful yet convenient time - only 2 minutes from Windermere Golf Club, 2 miles from shops and restaurants in Bowness, and the same distance from the glorious lake shores and boating attractions of Lake Windermere.

The surrounding countryside is bliss for walking, straight from your door, and scattered with acclaimed Lake District pub restaurants.

Some of the finest in the Lake District are within a very short drive. Other popular Lake District villages and viewpoints are easily accessible from the A591 at Bowness, which leads to Windermere village then Troutbeck, then on to Ambleside, Rydal Water and Grasmere.

Alternatively, follow this road south from Bowness to peaceful Lakeside and arty Ulverston.

The Bowness car-ferry also provides access to 'Beatrix Potter country' and the picture post card village of Hawkshead.

All-in-all, this prime position at the heart of the Lakes ensures that your whole party will be entertained throughout their stay.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
