Built in the late 18th century, Ecclerigg Old Farm offers comfortable holiday accommodation in any season.
One of a small cluster of former farm buildings, the farmhouse sits well back from the road, mid-way between Ambleside and Troutbeck Bridge.
This is an excellent base for a walking or touring holiday with all of central Lakeland easily accessible by car or bus.
The National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole is just a short stroll away from where lake cruises can be taken on beautiful Lake Windermere.
The grounds are open all year and there are footpaths down to the lake.
There is also a seasonal teashop and many interesting activities for visitors with a published programme of events and exhibitions.
There are several hotels close by where you can eat out in style without using the car.
Ambleside and Windermere have excellent local shopping.
Buses stop at the end of the drive.
