“Very nice comfortable house, ideal for our walking party.”

One of the rooms had not been converted to a twin but Ian was apologetic and sorted it out straight away. He also unlocked one of the rooms after one of the party locked their keys inside. Would definitely stay again.

The property

Hollywood is a contemporary, end-terrace, Victorian guesthouse located in Windermere, Cumbria.

Resting in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Hollywood is an ideal base for couples or a large family wishing to explore the area around Lake Windermere.

Before entering the wonderful porch area of your new home-away-from-home, park in one of the three allocated parking places.

After entering, be greeted by a magnificent sitting room with velvet blue sofas beckoning you to relax in front of the flatscreen TV.

After relaxing for a while, continue to the excellent kitchen/diner, which features all of the amenities an aspiring chef might need, including an outstanding range cooker and a spacious fridge.

After the appointed chef has prepared a delectable meal, it can be savoured at the dining table, which seats the entire family and also has views of another TV; ideal for some post-dinner relaxation!

On the first floor, there are four beautifully decorated bedrooms, including a king-size that has its own bathroom, a double, a zip/linked super-king-size, and a single, all of which have their own en-suite shower room, ideal for those after a bit of privacy in the evenings, and all of which have their own TV, ideal for a bit of late-night entertainment!

Climb the stairs once more to find two more wonderful doubles, each with an en-suite shower room and a TV.

All of the rooms come with complimentary toiletries, Egyptian cotton linen, hair dryers, as well as a handy radio alarm clock for those who wish to get up early and explore the area.

The property additionally has its own outdoor spaces, with the first being a front enclosed garden where you can sit out in the summertime with a cold beverage, and the second being a back garden with astro-turf and its own patio area where you can settle down with a good book or sip a cup of morning coffee before wandering out.

Visit the town's family-run Sugar & Spice Café & Bistro for a hearty breakfast or Hooked for some locally caught seafood for lunch.

You'll have plenty of options for dining out, including a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and cafés, as well as grocery stores where you can stock up on supplies to prepare meals in the privacy of Hollywood. The lake is a great setting for outdoor enthusiasts, as it offers a wide range of watersports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing.

Walking and hiking enthusiasts will not want to miss the views from Queen Adelaide's Hill and Orrest Head, which gaze out over the Landale Pikes.

At The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, you may discover more about the beloved author and her beloved characters.

The interesting ruins of a Roman fort dating back to the second century can be explored in Ambleside, as can Stock Ghyll Force, a 70-foot waterfall.

Continue on to Grasmere, where you can visit the man-made Rydal Cave or William Wordsworth's former residence.

Whisk your loved ones for a getaway in style with a stay at Hollywood.
