Providing tasteful and comfortable accommodation, this terraced cottage is ideal for a couple or small family wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Set in a tranquil location, you are next to a river and offers views of the river and fields beyond.

The cottage has two stylish bedrooms, a large bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen/diner with door that leads out onto an open courtyard, plus the lovely sitting room has a warming woodburning stove in a feature fireplace, and is the perfect place for cosy evenings in.

To the front is a patio area, which is separated from the river by iron railings and is a real gem of a sun trap, where you're able to relax with a good book and watch the ducks go by on the river.

The village of Cark in Cartmel offers two pubs, shops and the Furness line railway, plus Cartmel is only two miles away and has specialist food shops, a racecourse and an ancient Priory.

A pleasant walk to Holker Hall and Gardens, the home of the Cavendish family, is well worth the effort if only to sample the delicious breakfasts served in the Courtyard Cafe or to pick up a picnic hamper from their Food Hall.

Catch the train to Grange-over-Sands and spend a day in this elegant Edwardian town, plus walkers will be spoilt for choice with a rich variety of landscapes to explore ranging from coastal walks along Morecambe Bay to the breathtaking Lake District National Park.

About the location

CARK IN CARTMEL

Cartmel 2 miles; Bowness on Windermere 16 miles.

Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside or visit The National Hunt Racecourse, the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all close by. Nearby Cartmel offers quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, charming gift shops, welcoming traditional pubs serving real ales, and the nationally acclaimed Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant.
