Recently renovated to the highest standard, Ben House is an exceptional early Victorian property which offers spacious, elegant and luxurious holiday accommodation in a peaceful corner of Grasmere.
Originally built as a gentleman's residence in the 1830s, the house benefits from many original features: a beautiful tiled hallway and kitchen, high ceilings, large windows, feature fireplaces and imposing staircase.
However, it also incorporates bespoke luxurious bathrooms with the comfort of underfloor heating, a designer kitchen, local slate floors, quality furnishings and Herdwick wool carpets.
You will be able to relax in the elegant sitting room, socialise in the spacious dining room and retreat to welcoming and comfortable bedrooms.
The short stroll down the lane or across the fields brings you into the heart of Grasmere village with a fine array of tea rooms and shops, and a range of places to eat from local bistros to traditional village pubs, and the Michelin-starred Forestside just across the lane from the property.
Walks abound in this central part of the Lake District.
There are gentle rambles along the lakeshore and up Easedale or you can head higher onto the fells; Fairfield, Helvellyn and Helm Crag are accessible from the door.
