“We had a fab stay at TT.”

As promised the issue we had last year had been resolved, so top marks. Its set in a superb woodland location with views across to the distant mountains where we could watch the storms as they headed our way. Its perfectly located to explore beautiful Cumbria and about 5 mins out of Bowness, close enough to the restaurants and cafes if that's your thing. Very well appointed throughout so you wont be disappointed if you pay TT a visit. Its our fourth visit and we highly recommended it.

Bowness is a contemporary Lake District village on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake and one of the most scenic destinations in the UK for a romantic break.

The village is alive with cafes and restaurants, as well as plenty of choice for a special evening out.

There are handy groceries, supermarkets and sophisticated shops for leisurely browsing.

There is a cinema, a theatre and even a lakeshore nightclub to guarantee you a lively night out if you want one! Stunning Lake Windermere offers all sorts of activities.

You'll enjoy taking a sunset wander on the lakeshore or hiring a rowing boat for a bit of fun.

Steamers run from Bowness Pier all year round, taking scenic cruises to Lakeside and Ambleside.

A great way to explore without the car.

You can also take a car ferry from Bowness to the west shore of Lake Windermere, where Beatrix Potter's magical countryside and the honeypot village of Hawkshead are waiting to be explored. Walkers will love exploring the paths and fells around Lake Windermere.

For example, Gummers How is a short steep route to a viewpoint high above the Lake (well worth the effort!) and the Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank, Bowland Bridge, is the ideal pub to visit for refuelling afterwards.

If you are a serious hiker then many of the most spectacular and challenging mountains of the Lake District are within easy driving distance.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
