This picturesque part of The Lake District, much loved by Beatrix Potter and where she made her home, offers guests a chance to relax and enjoy the peacefulness and charm of one of the prettiest parts of The National Park.
There are gentle walks in the area - across the fields to Near Sawrey for a visit to Beatrix Potter's home at Hill Top, or over the little path opposite the cottage to the shores of Lake Windermere about half a mile distant.
The ferry across the lake takes you easily to Bowness and there are many opportunities for exploring the quiet byways on the western side of Lake Windermere either on foot or cycle and two good pubs within walking distance.
