    “Overall it was a great stay, 2nd time staying here int the last few years.”

    One thing we did feel a bit let down with was the Christmas decorations. For a house of that size we was expecting a lot more than the smallish sized Christmas tree we got. Even a quarter of the lights didn’t work meaning the bottom of the tree wasn’t lit up. With some children in the group we had to make a trip out to get some more decs especially table decorations. So maybe for future stays in December it maybe nice to have extra lights or even outdoor tree on the drive. Garlands on the ...

Garlands on the staircase? another tree in the lounge with a bigger tree in the kitchen and some table decorations. Just a thought as this is the only area we felt let down on. The other part that you need to know is that the bedroom above the lounge to the left of the stairs that lead to the top floor, there was a smell of drains when the shower was in use. So maybe it may need looking at to find the source on that. Everything else was great and an excellent stay. Thanks Paul

From its elevated position, just outside the popular village of Bowness, in the heart of the Lake District, Cleabarrow Cottage takes full advantage of its position to enjoy the beautiful, far reaching views across the meadows and woods to the imposing skyline of the south Lakeland fells.

Created by the current owners to create a contemporary and luxurious retreat where guests can relax in sumptuous surroundings with beautiful views. The accommodation is spread over three floors and this stylish home benefits from large, spacious sitting, dining, kitchen area with panoramic windows and bifold doors, a formal lounge where guests can relax and socialise in an evening, a snug/reading area for those who are looking for a few minutes peace and quiet, a large patio with outdoor furniture and a bubbling hot tub.

Presented with six welcoming bedrooms, including one on the ground floor, all with ensuite facilities, Cleabarrow Cottage is one of the best in the region and is a popular choice all year round. Within easy reach of the popular villages of Bowness and Windermere, just a few minutes’ drive from a range of award winning restaurants and country pubs, directly opposite Windermere Golf Club and with a choice of walks from the door guests can quickly and easily be out and about enjoying the Lake District to the full and then retreat at the end of the day to this stylish and beautifully appointed cottage Accommodation In Detail The living accommodation offers plenty of space for friends and families of all ages.

The heart of the home is the spacious open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area with floor to ceiling picture windows with bi-fold doors that open to the patio, allow the light to flood in and offers a real connection with the beautiful countryside beyond which is a haven for wildlife, including a herd of Roe deer that can be often seen first thing in a morning grazing in the adjacent meadow.

The beautifully presented space includes two sitting areas, one from which to enjoy the views and the other to relax in front of the TV.

The large dining table is ideal for family celebrations or hearty Cumbrian breakfasts.

The superb high quality, contemporary kitchen, is well equipped with five ring induction hob, electric double oven, double fridge and freezer, wine cooler, Quoker hot water tap and dishwasher all complemented by a high quality kitchen inventory.

Across the hallway is the formal sitting room with comfortable sofas, armchairs, large screen TV and patio doors to the garden.

To the side is a cosy snug / reading area which is a little haven in which to relax with a good book or the weekend papers. Cleabarrow Cottage offers a choice of six bedrooms, each beautifully presented and all with ensuite facilities, TVs and bathrobes.

Four of the bedrooms can be presented as with either a superking bed or twin beds (please specify your choice when booking to ensure the rooms are correctly presented and ready for your arrival).

The first of the six bedrooms is located on the ground floor and complemented by a superb ensuite shower room with walk in shower.

On the first floor, choose from four welcoming bedrooms; the first with a large corner window benefiting from the beautiful views and including an ensuite shower room, the second with a balcony and ensuite bathroom with feature bath, the third with superb views and luxurious ensuite with feature bath and the fourth spacious bedroom suite with ensuite bathroom with feature bath.

The final beroom is located on the second floor; this is a lovely suite set in the eves with ensuite bathroom with a feature bath, A terraced, lawned garden, wraps round the cottage and a large patio with outdoor dining furniture is the place to relax on a summers evening or alternatively unwind in the large hot tub.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park.
