A lovely property which was very comfortable and well equipped

The Lodge is a lovely property in a great location.

Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Whilst we appreciated the small outside terrace, we'd have loved a little green garden space too, and tbh better quality outdoor furniture. Lovely kitchen space and well equipped in terms of crockery and glasses etc for our party - but could we suggest providing a mixing bowl, a couple of serving bowls and some scales, please? Also a paper copy of how to use the oven - took us half an hour to work it out! I'd recommend the Lodge to others looking for a lovely holiday house but I wouldnt recommend Sykes as a company - there's no way to make contact with a person despite their emails telling you you can ring anytime and giving a phone number. When you get through you get a bot who offers you 2 options neither of which were appropriate and attempts then to contact Sykes by email returned "undeliverable". An internet search showed I wasnt the only person who thought Sykes customer service was appalling. They are there to take your money and have little interest in any kind of service at all. Wont be booking through them again, ever.

We absolutely loved our stay, the house had everything we needed and was very spacious.

Beds were huge and comfortable. The sofa was too low for my elderly father and hard to get up from but this did not impact our stay, we would need to consider booster cushions if we were to stay again. Lovely and peaceful area. Lots of great places to visit too, nearby.

Great location for access to the lakes and walks. Really comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Good to have the second sitting area next to the kitchen and dining areas. Perfect instructions all the way through. Hopefully we will get to come back.

What a beautiful property!

It is immaculately presented, all the facilities we needed and in a great location! Tash was immediately on hand to help split the room from a double to a twin and offered more ideas and suggestions of where to go during our stay. The information pack sent ahead of our stay was great, especially for places to eat! We had a lovely time at The Lodge and would definitely come back!

Wow what a beautiful place to stay Perfect location lovely walks on the door step short drive to Windermere and Bowness- The Lodge is lovely plenty of room for 6 adults and one dog lovely open plan kitchen diner and big living room - every amenity and lists of local walks and restaurants- nice deck area lots of parking- the deck was the only fenced in area to let the dog out there is a big court yard but my dog would go missing so could only go out there on the lead - we went in January and where lucky with the weather would love to go back in the summer months as it would be perfect for sitting outside

Beautiful property, design and layout was perfect, spacious and comfortable, so quiet, we slept so well.

The addition of the patio area was unexpected and a bonus. I would say if there had been more than the two of us we wouldn’t have found it as comfortable, as one bedroom had drawers but no hanging space and the other bedrooms hanging space but no drawers, bit odd to not have anywhere for socks or undies, and one bedroom had no headboard. The double shower en-suite was full of cobwebs & really needed a thorough clean. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We were a bit disappointed with how things were when we arrived.

Unfortunately, the property didn’t feel as clean or well-prepared as we’d expected. The floors were visibly dirty, we vacuumed, some of the bedding had hair and fluff that we had to remove with a lint roller. The cottage was also full of spiderwebs. One of the bathroom radiators wasn’t working, which wasn’t ideal for this time of year. There were also a few maintenance issues, like ripped cushions and some missing floor tiles, which affected the overall comfort and feel of the place. We also struggled a little with the lack of basic information and supplies. There weren’t any instructions for the appliances, which made them tricky to use, and items like the lighters (with no fuel) and the torch (with no batteries) weren’t actually usable. And a lack of handwash. Overall, the property just didn’t feel up to the standard we were expecting, and it did take away from our stay.

We had a lovely time and loved the cottage and the location everything was great.

The only problem we had and it was a bit of a inconvenience was the cooker ,the grill wouldnt work and the cooker took ages to cook anything !

Lovely accommodation - with a great location for us.

The owner was very helpful and responsive for any questions we had. We brought a 2 year old and dog and they were well catered for. We thought the kitchen looked a little small on the pictures - it wasn't! - and more than big enough for us to cook a large Christmas dinner for all of us. The 2 seating areas were also very useful. The Lodge is located very close to some lovely walks and if you feel like a park run - there was one very close! We had a great and memorable stay at the Lodge .... the sunshine in December was an added bonus! You won't be disappointed if you chose to stay here

The Lodge is a wonderful property, ideally located for the Lakes.

Though not too far from the main access roads, it is a quiet retreat to come back to after a day's exploring. The 3 en-suite bedrooms are a real positive when you are visiting with family and the kitchen and utility room have all the facility's and equipment that made our stay very comfortable.

This was the first time we had taken a dog on holiday and the Lodge was perfect.

It was comfortable and very clean with everything we could need. We had never stayed in that area before and found the information given by the owner really useful. We really hope to return in the future.

Wonderful cottage, we enjoyed a great week with our family - especially good that every bedroom had its own en suite and such comfortable beds!

Lots of walks nearby and Tash can recommend plenty more if needed! Don’t hesitate- book this cottage and enjoy ☺️

Welcoming, helpful host. Comfy beds all en suite. Very well placed for Fell Foot, Lake Windermere and beyond. Plenty of parking. Delicious muffins on arrival. Thank you!

We enjoyed our break away at the lodge and Tash was very helpful throughout our stay.

The cottage is lovely and well set out. The only thing I would say is a welcome folder with information including the WiFi code, instructions on the dishwasher settings, heating, oven and main channel TV apps etc would be really helpful. Also maybe a pint of milk on arrival and pint glasses would be a great addition too. These comments are by no means criticism at all. We would recommend The Lodge to friends, it’s in a beautiful location and perfect for exploring the Lake District.

The property itself was lovely.

Great setting and surroundings. It could perhaps do with more crockery/cutlery/glasses as, although there was enough for 6 people, there wasn't enough once that had been used! The only major complaint was one of the toilets being out of order. I understand effort had been make to rectify this problem but one of the reasons for selecting this property was the en suite facilities for each room. If some recompense could be offered for this 'inconvenience' it would be great.

The lodge is just fabulous.

We stayed as 3 couples and two dogs. Having three lovely bedrooms all with En-Suite makes the stay even better. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room with the log burner is very cosy. But for us the location is just perfect so peaceful and some brilliant walks for the dogs on your doorstep. Tash and Will kept us up to date before we arrived and gave us a recommendation for a dog friendly Sunday dinner at the Hare & Hounds (defiantly worth a visit). Great first visit we will be back.

Responded to my questions asap and went the extra mile to make birthday celebrations spectacular. The area is outstanding and the views breathtaking. The cottage was large so never felt crowded with 6 people and 2 dogs. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful property that has been lovingly renovated.

It was warm and spacious and suited our needs very much (3 generations of one family, and a large bouncy dog!). We especially loved having an en suite each, lots of space to cook, eat and play board games, the huge television and a log burner in the lounge, and very comfortable (and big!) beds. There are lots of walks and trails directly from The Lodge, and the coast and all the Lakes has to offer only a short drive. There’s a well stocked Budgens about a mile away so you don’t need to travel to stock up. There’s a little bit of traffic noise but you don’t hear this indoors at all. And Tash provided a warm welcome, great suggestions for visits and food, and was immediately responsive when we couldn’t get the heating to come on one evening. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Tash is a delightful owner and really cares about her guests.

The Lodge is immaculate and a fantastic location to explore the Lake District but with a bonus of fabulous local walks too.

The Lodge is very beautiful and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay.

The renovation has been done at top quality. We had a lovely stay. The Lodge is in a very nice scenic and peaceful setting. Lots of great places to visit within easy driving distance then you can return to The Lodge for a nice cosy evening. We would definitely recommend The Lodge to friends, family and anyone else who is looking for top accommodation in a beautiful setting.

We loved the accommodation which we found charming, very clean and comfortable.

If pressed to make any suggestions we would say a lamp or two in the sitting area of the kitchen/diner and a small grass area in the outside space for dogs to do their toilet. That said, we were very happy with The Lodge and it’s location and would definitely be happy to return!

If you are considering booking the Lodge go ahead , you will not be disappointed.

The property has been beautiful destroyed and feels warm , clean and calm . Great location , walks close to home on the days you may not wish to head off to the lakes. Visit Cartmel, a beautiful village with Good pubs and restaurants Despite not meeting the owners, Will and Tash, due to their own commitments, Communication was made prior to our stay and on the day we left . A lovely home

Superb couldn't of been better :)

House was a steal, felt very clean and new but maintained a rustic warm feel throughout the interior.

Hosts were very helpful and attentive, they even left us 2 bottles of wine and some freshly baked muffins. Despite a power cut for the duration of our second night, the hosts couldn’t have done more to make sure that we had everything we needed to make the evening enjoyable and comfortable.

Loved The Lodge, location was excellent and the quality of the refurb was 10/10!

More than enough room for 6 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs! Would absolutely return and would recommend to all!

The Lodge is a beautiful spacious property with high quality fixtures, fittings and furniture.

Very comfortable with everything you need provided. Lovely welcome pack and plenty of logs for the fire (most properties only give you a few starter logs if any at all) Natasha was very attentive and always texted response immediately regarding any queries.
