    “We really enjoyed our stay here.”

    It’s a super-unique accommodation where rustic charm meets modern style. The location just outside Ulverston is great, with local amenities close by, while still being a short drive into the Lake District. The accommodation has a lovely character and is a great base for exploring the area. The owners, Gerry and Colleen, are nearby if needed but are completely unobtrusive, giving you privacy while still being available should you need anything. One small suggestion would be to add a ...

    It’s a super-unique accommodation where rustic charm meets modern style. The location just outside Ulverston is great, with local amenities close by, while still being a short drive into the Lake District. The accommodation has a lovely character and is a great base for exploring the area. The owners, Gerry and Colleen, are nearby if needed but are completely unobtrusive, giving you privacy while still being available should you need anything. One small suggestion would be to add a coffee machine, which would be a great addition. Thank you, Gerry and Colleen, for a lovely stay — we really enjoyed our time here and would happily return.

The living areas in this converted barn consist of a first-floor open-plan living space with kitchen equipped with electric oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, dining area and sitting area with Smart TV, woodburning stove and juliet balcony.

There is one king-size bedroom serviced by a shower room.

Outside there is off-road parking available and a gravelled garden with furniture, fire pit and barbecue.

Within 1.1 miles there is a shop and 0.7 miles a pub.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome but sorry, no smoking.

WiFi, fuel, power, starter for woodburning stove, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

ULVERSTON

Lake Windermere 10 miles; Coniston Water 11 miles.

Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
