    “General cleanliness could be much better for arrival.”

    Next door neighbour was a very nice chap and flexible with our dog coming in and out of the property. Instructions could be clearer and more obvious to find. On the whole it was very comfortable and a good location for remote enjoyment of the Lakes

Bobbin Beck Cottage is captivating contemporary traditional Lakeland cottage on the banks of a soothing picturesque river in the sleepy hamlet of Force Forge, between Hawkshead and Lake Windermere on the edge of Grizedale Forest, blissfully secluded yet only a mile from the village pub. An enchanting Lake District cottage in blissful surroundings with; 3 chic bedrooms, 2 stylish bathroom facilities, spacious living spaces with warming woodburning stoves set on slate flagged flooring and true picture windows.

Outside a pretty cottage garden with patio and stone steps leading into the river, what a perfect place for al-fresco living...Grizedale Forrest surrounds this beautiful hamlet boasting some of the best mountain biking trails in the country.

Don't forget the award winning and very exciting 'Go Ape', a must for adventure junkies yet the walking throughout this magnificent part of the Lakes is hard to beat.

If searching for a special and eclectic escape in the Lakes, you have found it here at Bobbin Beck Cottage. == Accommodation in detail A pathway leads through your riverside garden to a traditional entrance porch, ideal for walking gear and from here, through a stable door, you enter the spacious kitchen / dining room which is a superb living space itself, a state of the art kitchen with everything you may need and a warming woodburning stove set on a slate flooring.

An opening into the second living area with leather relaxing furnishings set on original slate flags with sumptuous rugs by a second woodburner, there are two window seats and views over the garden towards the river, what a relaxing space for a cosy night in.

On this level is a useful utility room housing the washing machine and freezer.

Upstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms; the master king size bedroom complete with beamed vaulted ceiling and en-suite shower room and then the twin bedroom also with the vaulted beamed ceiling and soothing sound of the flowing river.

There is also a single bedroom.

The house bathroom has a double ended bath and invigorating power shower cubicle.

Outside the riverside garden is a true delight with patio and furniture, what a great place to unwind and with direct access via steps into the river for paddling but please be vigilant at all times with young children. Location This secluded Satterthwaite holiday home enjoys a peaceful, picturesque location between the lakes of Coniston and Windermere, just south of Hawkshead village.

The sleepy hamlet is surrounded by a natural playground of stunning landscapes to explore; a great base for walking and outdoor adventure as well as for escaping the everyday rush. To the north, Grizedale Forest is an intriguing network of walking routes, cycle paths and sculpture trails.

Lake Windermere lies to the east, and a car-ferry crossing can take you across the lake to explore the lively attractions of Bowness village. Also close by is the village of Near Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter famously lived and was inspired to write her children's stories.

Visit the author's home at Hill Top and explore her favourite places; such as Esthwaite Water and Moss Eccles Tarn. Hawkshead village itself is easily reached to your north; a charming historic village of whitewashed Lakeland cottages, car-free cobbled streets and interesting local shops.

You can stock up the kitchen there, or drive just a few miles to Ambleside village.
