Put on your walking shoes and take on the Kentmere Horseshoe, which has a starting point close to the cottage.
Alternatively, head to Lake Windermere and catch a Windermere steamer or visit Bowness to discover the "World of Beatrix Potter," which is a must-see for fans of the author.
