“We are a family of 4 adults who stayed at Ananda house.”

Our experience was as indicated by previous guests, very well presented and comfortable stay. Close to Windermere and Bowness, we would definitely book again.

The property

This semi-detached cottage sits close to the centre of Windermere, just a short wander from a range of amenities and attractions, in the Lake District.

Delightfully presented with an enclosed rear garden, woodburning stove and off-road parking, Ananda House is a wonderful retreat for a family and their pet looking to spend some time in the Lakelands.

After parking up directly outside, head through the door into the lounge, where you can kick back beside the woodburner and choose a film from the Smart TV. Allow the designated chef to become acquainted in the kitchen, making use of the electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and even a washer/dryer, perfect for keeping on top of your laundry.

Continue outside to the rear garden, where you can bask in the evening sun with a favourite tipple in hand, set in an enclosed space so your furry friend can safely explore.

Whisk away upstairs and make yourself comfortable in the bedrooms, complete with a super-king-size with Smart TV, a double and a 4’ 3” double, each neutrally presented.

Completing the interior is the shower room, ideal for freshening up before heading out the door.

Explore Windermere high street with its range of independent shops selling local produce, traditional butchers, restaurants and pubs, offering something for everyone.

Head to National Trust's Wray Castle, take a walk through Brockhole on Windermere, or learn about the area's rich history at the Lake District Visitor Centre.

Five miles away lies Ambleside, an idyllic town home to the Ambleside Roman Fort, a must-see for keen historians, whilst there is also the Bridge House and the beautiful Stock Ghyll Force worth adding to the itinerary.

Escape to the Lake District with a relaxing stay at Ananda House.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
