Centrally located in Windermere this cottage is ideally based for those without a car, within 5 minutes walking distance of the railway station and many bus routes.

The cosy log burning fire in the lounge makes this cottage a real home from home, ideal for a family get away at any time of the year. Windermere is a vibrant popular village with a friendly atmosphere, traditional pubs serving local ales, quirky cafes, individual shops and continental restaurants which are ideal for those who want to relax and soak up Lakeland village life.

The lively village of Bowness is only one mile away, here you can visit the famous World of Beatrix Potter or take a cruise on one of the very popular Steamers which will take you over to the picturesque village of Ambleside and on to the beautiful Lakeside where you can take a ride on the steam train down to Haverthwaite or visit The Aquarium Of The Lakes, the award winning fresh water aquarium.

For those of you who would like to explore the lakes without the need of a car why not take advantage of the excellent public transport links, which are just minutes from your door step. Lamb Cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone mid terrace cottage located in the centre of Windermere.

Enter into the bright and stylish lounge with deep comfy leather sofas and a warming log burning stove, ideal for those chilly winter evenings in enjoying a glass of wine or two after a day exploring.

The kitchen is very well equipped for all your catering needs and leads out to the rear enclosed patio where you can enjoy dining alfresco on those wonderful summer nights. Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
