“Practically perfect in every way , Everything you could ask for and more , felt at home immediately, this was the best holiday home we have stayed in the listing does not do it justice , you could have a holiday and never go out here all the amenities and amusement for both humans and dogs , the garden is a perfect Size for dogs to enjoy and have a good run and play , and definitely dog friendly we have 4 English setters and it was perfect , the owners are definitely dog lovers and put every thought into them enjoying their holidays to , you need not bring anything just yourselves and dogs , dog bowls throws towels , plush comfy quality doggie beds also supplied , Towelling and linen like a 5 star hotel slippers also what a lovely touch , Lovely owners .”

Exceptional thought has gone into creating a wonderful, beautiful, luxurious, immaculate, and comfortable holiday property. Everything you need is provided for guests and dogs, too. Outstanding welcome hamper, which is appreciated after a long journey. Excellent guide and instruction folder with local guides books for all walkers, dogs, and even car drivers. Perfect hosts, always available but never intrusive. Absolutely fabulous property, with the extra WOW factor, thank you. Love to return in the future.

“Simply fantastic!”

“What an amazing place.”

Could not fault anything. The photos don’t give justice to how beautiful it is. Never stayed anywhere as nice. No expense is spared, it is decorated beautifully. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything. The garden is perfect for the dogs, they loved it. Just kept the door opened and they roamed freely. The host are amazing. Would 100 percent stay here again.

“Lovely few days away at the hideaway, garden is big and secure for the dog and kids, the house is modern and the welcome is awesome!”

The games room is a great bonus and will solve any rainy day boredom, our weather was good however we still got plenty of use from it on an evening. Good location both for walking and driving, thanks again, perfect relaxing few days to blow away the back to school nerves!!

“This is a fabulous place to stay.”

The owners have thought of their guest's every need and comfort including anyone bringing dogs. They have gone above and beyond in the quality of the facilities, equipment, decor and welcome basket. The private garden is beautiful, large and secure so your dogs can roam freely. And in the summer you can pick fruit from the apple and plum trees. Can't recommend this place highly enough, and will be telling all our friends and family about it. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

“Absolutely wonderful property.”

The garden is completely dog safe and we was happy to just leave the door open and to let the dog wonder around freely. I've never stayed in such a dog friendly property, they even provided blankets to allow the dog on the sofa. Hosts were so helpful and provided baby cot and highchair. Just a wonderful stay and fully recommend. Especially loved the little welcome package of milk,eggs and cake etc.

Beautifully decorated, a huge well kept garden for the dogs to play in, 2x very comfortable lounges to relax in, very clean, well stocked with cleaning facilities & equipment to cook with. “Wow wow this property is the best ever we have stayed in and we have been coming up to this area for well over 8 years.”

It ticks every box for us it was like home from home felt chilled and relaxed. Def dog friendly there's everything for them and us that u could possibly need. Cottage furnished and decorated to very high standard. We are Definitely coming back once you've been here I am sure you will feel the same. Lovely welcoming hosts and a fantastic welcome tray ever seen. Garden just brilliant for dogs and us. Couldn't fault anything this was Def our lucky day to find this property Wow.

“A real find.”

Everything you could want is provided. We took four dogs and four dog beds were there. They were really clean and very much appreciated. As was the welcome box. The kitchen was very stylish and huge. There's an upstairs lounge with a big tv in it together with a sofa and seating. We used the downstairs lounge as my husband has mobility problems. The bedrooms are nicely decorated, and each has its own en-suite. At last I found something to complain about. I'm not very tall and had difficulty reaching up to open and close the bedroom blinds! This is an exceptional property, and I would recommend it. The garden is well stocked and is dog safe. You can't really say that about many properties.

About the location

WIGTON

Carlisle 12 miles; Keswick 20 miles.

A traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall, along with an open air car boot sale which is held at Silloth. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. Lord Melvyn Bragg was a native of Wigton, and used the town (called Thurston in some of his writings) and the surrounding area as the setting for his novels including ‘A Time to Dance’. Located 18 miles from Penrith it is a good base for the attractions of the North Lakes, the cathedral city of Carlisle, 12 miles away, Keswick, just north of Derwentwater and close to Lake Bassenthwaite, and the natural beauty of the West Cumbrian Coast. Hadrian’s Wall is within 25 miles, while the Scottish Borders, and Gretna Green, are within easy reach.
